!Definition
A Sequential Game is one in which moves are taken in turn, i.e. when a player makes a move they are aware of the last move taken by the opponent.

Contrast with [Simultaneous Game].

An example would be chess.

Conceptually at least, a [game tree|Game Tree] can be used to analyse a Sequential Game

!Notes
Note that if the flow of information is such that when a player makes their move they are unaware of the opponent's move (even if it has already happened) then the situation is a [simultaneous game|Simultaneous Game]
